Enter a keyword in the search box and see the number of results Google comes up with. To check a keyphrase, enter the phrase within double quotes. To find the true level of competition, use the parameters 'in title' and 'in anchor' for the search. For instance, if you're searching for portable car DVD player, enter the phrase in Google as: intitle:"portable car DVD player" inanchor:"portable car DVD player" The search results shown indicate the actual amount of competition for that particular niche.
